Windsor Thames, P.Eng.

Project & Planning Engineer – E&I/Automation

Windsor Thames is an accomplished electrical engineer with over 25 years of experience in the field. He has a proven track record of designing and implementing complex electrical systems for various industries including: alumina refining, pharmaceutical API and Aseptic operations, and electro-chemical industry. Windsor has experience working in three countries in areas such as; project management, maintenance, equipment asset management, reliability and design. 

Throughout his career, Windsor has demonstrated a deep understanding of electrical engineering and its application in industrial and manufacturing facilities. He has a strong background in electrical power systems up to 115kV, PLC based control systems, electrical equipment specification, electrical and control system PM, VFD’s and power factor correction. He also has extensive Project Management experience and have managed a portfolio of capital projects in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. At his previous places of employment, Windsor was responsible for leading teams of electrical engineers and technicians to design and develop electrical and control systems such as; PLC based control system for an interconnected conveyor system. Developed MCC schematics for motor control, specification for substation class power transformers, high voltage circuit breakers and associated protection systems. Development of schematic diagrams for stand-alone control panels for pumps and static loads.

In his current role at Shreem Systems & Solutions, Windsor is responsible for leading the engineering team responsible for automation, electrical design, panel design and construction, quality control and project management.

Windsor Thames holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from University of the West Indies in Trinidad, and a Master’s degree in Electrical Power Systems from University of Bath in the UK. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, a senior member of IEEE (SMIEEE), and a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP). Windsor is also volunteers as an assessor of new engineering applicants for Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM), Competency Based Assessment (CBA) committee.
